Rachel Reeves: 'Good' businesses will welcome month-long paternity leave

Rachel Reeves warned fathers will leave companies unless they are granted a month’s leave.

Ed Miliband will today announce that Labour will nearly double paternity pay to £260 a week, bringing it into line with the minimum wage.

The announcement has further antagonised business groups, with the British Chambers of Commerce warning it would create “very real costs” and result in lower growth and job losses.
