Good Practice

Working with employers to tackle child poverty

Date Posted: 01 March 2017

While London creates a huge amount of wealth, the picture for low income families who live here is one of soaring rents and living costs and diminishing social support.  Work is no longer a reliable route out of poverty; 450,000 children in London are in poverty despite living in a household where someone is working.

In our latest report we discuss how non-inclusive growth in London traps families in poverty, threatens social integration and harms business.  We share good practice for organisations wanting to encourage businesses to enhance their activities and employment practices to give greater support to low income families.
