From child poverty to life chances

The event looked at latest research on the effect of income poverty on children's life chances and explored the likely impact of the government's proposed life chances strategy.  We also looked at two practical projects.

Imran Hussain fromn Child Poverty Action Group, spoke about their latest publication bringing together latest research on life chances and thoughts about the proposed new strategy: Presentation.

Claire Read introduced Save the Children's campaign for high quality early years education as a means of improving the life chances of disadvantaged children: Presentation.

Jayne Stokes of Family Action, introduced findings from the evaluation of the Open Doors project, which demostrates the impact of small cash grants in improving the situation of disadvantaged individuals and families: Presentation.
