GLA: London will see 4,500 council homes sold off under Right to Buy plans

Date Posted: 16 July 2015

Richard Blakeway, the deputy mayor for housing, said a ‘broad’ assessment by City Hall suggested that between 3,000 and 4,500 London council homes would be sold off each year through the policy.

It came as Kensington and Chelsea warned between 40% and 50% of void properties would be sold each year, with all family-sized homes sold off.

Islington Council warned that all homes built under its 10,000-home new build programme would be immediately sold.
